Welcome to the home page of the Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Group.

EUSOG was founded in 1962 by Edinburgh students to promote and perform the operettas of W. S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan. Every year we perform at least one G&S show, the last being The Sorcerer at the Church Hill Theatre. We have also put on a wide variety of other shows of a high standard along with productions in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Our repertoire by more contemporary authors include works by Stephen Sondheim, Gershwin and Puccini.

Threepenny Opening Night a sell out!

EUSOG's performance of Brecht and Weill's Threepenny Opera opened at the fringe last night to a sell-out audience.  The show runs until the 30th August and tickets can be obtained online from www.edfringe.com or in person at the Paradise Green box office at Augustine's (Venue 152) on George IV Bridge.

Announcing the Threepenny Opera Caberet Night!

On the 20th May the cast of the Threepenny Opera will be performing  an eclectic mix of muscial numbers for your enjoyment and entertainment!  Pop along to Koko Bar (previously known as Native State) opposite the (still kind of) new Informatics building at Potterrow.  Doors open at 7.30pm and the singing will start soon after.  As well as the vocal talents of our lovely cast there'll be drinks deals to keep you merry and and atmosphere that can't be beaten.  At the bargain price of £3 entry for students and £4 for non-students its an offer you can't refuse.  We hope to see you there!

EUSOG to perform Threepenny Opera at the Fringe!

EUSOG return this year after two very successful Fringe 2009 sell-out shows; 'Rent' and 'The Pirates of Penzance', to perform the Brecht and Weill collaboration; 'The Threepenny Opera'. Join them in the dark and corrupt streets of Victorian, London, where notorious criminal Macheath (Mack the Knife) leads an immoral gang of thieves. EUSOG's version of this highly stylised and satirical musical puts a fresh spin on the show and you can be part of it!  For audition information and the date of time of the open meeting head over to the threepenny pages at www.eusog.org/shows/2010/threepenny

Just over 1 Week to Go!

That's right, Ruddigore opens at the Churchill Theatre a week on Tuesday!  It's all coming together and looking both hilarious and scary (often at the same time!) and the cast are really looking forward to the show.  The girls however remain unimpressed with Chris's (Robin Oakapple/Ruthven Murgatroyd) scary face; he's still got a week to practise though!

If you haven't booked or reserved your tickets yet get in touch on 07940968312 or book via the website at www.eusog.org/tickets

We look forward to seeing you soon!
